The Voice of Truth

Christians need communication with God. But how do they discern His voice above their own or others’ feelings and impressions?

A number of years ago, Liz joined a Bible study group that claimed to have received new light that Christ would return within three years. Members of the group also claimed to have received signs and messages from God validating their experience. At the time, she fervently wished that God would speak directly to her, too—but no messages came.

A few months later, Liz came across evidence from Scripture that exposed the new teaching as error. Which to believe? 

Today, she is very thankful she chose the Bible’s truth over the signs and “messages from God.” Sadly, many of the others lost faith in the Bible and in God when Jesus didn’t return when expected.
