Beware of False Christs!

Jesus warned that signs of His soon return would include highly believable, spiritual scams. How can we avoid falling for them?

Recently, a career woman was persuaded to hand $50,000 to a stranger. She fell for an elaborate phone scam involving people who posed as government identity theft detectives. Until then, she had prided herself on identifying and resisting scams.1

Some of today’s deceptions seem so believable that they’re nearly impossible to detect. AI has certainly facilitated that, but humans are also responsible for refining deceit. Yet behind the scenes, there’s a mastermind of deception who’s setting us up for the biggest scam of all.

Deception is not a new “art.” Satan introduced it in heaven and then applied it to the first humans. Posing as a smooth-talking serpent, he charmed Eve into disobeying the only prohibition God had given. When Adam deliberately joined her, evil took root on our planet and in the human race.
