There is danger that Christians do too many religious duties not because they have an intense desire to do them, but because it is the custom or because it is required. Duty is a great word; love is a greater word. Love is voluntary, free; duty is exacting, compulsory. Duty is law; love is grace. Both are necessary, and one must not be stressed to the exclusion of the other, but the greater of these is love, for love fulfills duty.
