Eight Tips for Debt Reduction

While the bad news might be that you are in terrible debt, the good news is that you are not going to make it into the Guinness World Records as the first person to get out of debt! Many, many have done it before. Here are eight tips they have used:

1. Treat the root problem of most debt: selfishness and covetousness. Pray and ask God to help you overcome these sins. This does not necessarily apply to people who are debt-ridden because of illness or other unforeseeable, uncontrollable, and unfortunate situations.

2. Do not acquire any more debts, not under any circumstances. You can’t get deeper into debt if you don’t borrow more money. Again, this does not apply to people who experience serious emergencies.

3. Compile a list of all your debts. List them in descending order, from the largest to the smallest. Every month, make the minimum payment
