In the Living Planet Report for 2020, conservationists decry the current condition of our planet, calling COVID-19 “the deepest global disruption of a lifetime.” They believe that the pandemic and other recent disasters are the earth’s response to the way it has been treated through industrialization and urbanization.
It’s true that the health of nature is vital to the health of mankind, and when nature is destroyed and neglected, the results become evident over time.
But what’s the solution? The booklet calls for changes from the top down with governments and world leaders making decisions that would “protect and restore nature.” Specifically, they’re urging a New Deal for Nature and People. Only time will tell what the implications will be for God’s people.
