This Little Light of Mine

When God’s light is inside of us, even the darkness is light around us!

There are two themes in this issue of Last Generation: the increasing lawlessness of our world and the contrast seen in the lives of God’s people. I am especially drawn to how Daniel 12:3 portrays God’s people at the end of time: “And they that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament; and they that turn many to righteousness as the stars for ever and ever.”

As I was searching for an image that describes this Scripture passage, I turned to Shutterstock, a popular image website. I plugged in some search parameters to aid me in finding what I needed: “candle dark background person.”

Thousands of images popped up—people holding candles in the dark, or holiday night scenes with candles and Christmas trees with people celebrating.

But as I scrolled, I was intrigued that some images of light in the darkness only made the darkness
