“Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature.” 2 Peter 1:4.

Bill had a problem. A big problem. He had reached a point in his life when his craving for junk foods like candy, snacks, and chocolate completely controlled him. He was continuously eating between meals, eating too much, and eating late at night.

But the bigger problem was that Bill, a Christian, felt like a spiritual failure. “I didn’t have an understanding of true victory over sin,” he said. “I was in the same situation as the person in Romans chapter 7. I wanted to do right, but I couldn’t. It was a yo-yo experience. I was memorizing Scripture, but still not gaining victory.”
