What is God like? What does it mean to be made in His image? How can we even see His image in this blighted world full of suffering, disease, persecution, emotional anguish, death, and utter villainy perpetrated by humans on their fellow humans? God’s image has been obscured, nearly destroyed. What happened to it?
The Garden of Eden was the picture of perfection. Everything, from the atmosphere, to the animals, plants, and even the soil, worked together in what could be described as the most beautiful harmony ever seen or heard. The human inhabitants, Adam and Eve, were the crowning jewel of God’s creation. When alone, Adam knew that there was something missing, but once God created Eve, he was complete. They were a perfect reflection of God, made in His image.
